NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR APPLIED ARTS
National School for Applied Arts “St. Luke“ – Sofia was established as a Craftsman School in 1953. Then it was transformed in a School of Crafts. In 1975 it became a Secondary Art School for Applied Arts, and in 2009 – National School for Applied Arts “St. Luke“ – Sofia. The school is the winner of the Platinum Star
International Award, Madrid 1999, as well as the award of the Council of the European Scientific and Cultural Community Golden Book“. It is a vocational school for young adults with particular focus on design.
The School offers degree in eight different majors, providing students with in-depth knowledge of theories and applicable skills needed to excel in their careers – “Artistic textile”, “Commercial graphics”, “Space design”, “Silicate design”, “Children‘s toys and souvenirs design”, “Artistic woodwork”, “Artistic metalwork” and “Fashion design”. Students learn drawing, painting, sculpture, art history and computer graphics. The team of educators consists of well-known artists and craftspeople as well as professional teachers of theoretical subjects.
